  3. I found the video very interesting and entertaining. It shows us the background of English language and how it is the result of mixing languages. Modern English share many similar words that come from romance language, for example, French and Spanish. On the other hand, Old English is the language of Beowulf that belong to Germany language family. And something really interesting is that English, Swedish, German and many other languages descend from a common ancestral language called Proto-Germanic.

  4. This is a quite interesting as well as educational video. It's amazing to find out that so many languages have a common root. I've found it curious to realize how military invasions and nomadic ways of living have given form not only to geographically delimited countries but also to entire cultures.

  5. I've already read some material about the origins of languages, but this video explained it in a much more simple and fun way. Although the person talked too fast for my taste at times, it was still easy to understand, and the pictures and animation made it even easier.
It's always interesting to know about the roots of a language, even if it's not the one we speak ourselves; it shows not only how it has evolved through time and history, but also how it can be connected to our own native language by a common root! And how history itself has shaped it.

  6. I think it is a very interesting video! I didn't know that English has French and Germanic influence. It is wonderful to learn where the languages come from. Our mother language or the language we are learning.

  10. I liked the way the video explained something as complex as the origins of a language pretty easily to understand. I think that was mostly because of the illustrations that followed the speaker´s explanation perfectly.

  16. I found the video quite interesting because it explains, through a didactic way, english origins. Most of the time we forget about the history of our languages, and also the roots they have in common.
